14th of Othen, 2734.
I have further invoked the opinion of those who saw Soriel on the outskirts of Adderwain. Desiring to procure some sort of description from them, other than the standard anatomical elements, here I will record both what I know, and what knew knowledge I have gained from this past sighting.
Up to this point in time the descriptions of Soriel have been about the same. He stands approximately six feet tall, is slender, in the form of what is most closely linked with a panther. He stand on his hind legs as a human does, with no implication of unnatural attempts at balance. His clothing is of a foreign nature. Blue pants, straight and undoubtedly custom made. Matching a blue top that binds in the center with flaps that come away from the neck. Though his fur is black he dons a swath of blue hair, wildly sticking up into the air about an inch and a half. No shoes.
As you can see there is very little here. Not much is known about the actual presence of Daw, at least not until now. Those who witnessed his interactions outside Adderwain have conveyed their feelings when they saw him. One such man, named Frinly, described him most vividly...
"I came walkin' through the forest with my game hung over my shoulder, chattin' it up with Thomas and Drub, whens I feel a kind of chill in the air. I wouldn't have noticed it, other than it gave need quite the shivers up and down m' spine. Wheelin' around to see where the breeze came from, I saw the smoke of his campfire. Partin' the trees, there he was, jus' standing there. He was tall, or at least a little taller than me*, and staring down at th' ground. His eyes would move from the campfire to the moat, just flitting 'tween them, as if lookin' for somthin'. His gate was strong and imposing. At first, I had no idea what I was lookin' at, being as we know him to be the one who wears blue. But there was no mistakin' the black fur and blue hair. It was definitely 'im. I couldn't take my eyes off of 'im. The way he moved, almost like a bird when it's toyin' with a worm. Thomas and Drub were already gone by this point. Stupid buggers, they could have at least told me they was leavin'. That's what I get for huntin' with those..."
"Please, stay on topic, what about Soriel."
"Uh.... right. They was gone, and Soriel walked to his tent. Up to this point I have been looking entirely at his back. Which was uncovered. Oh! I forgot to say, he wasn't wearin' his normal clothes. Instead he only had on a pair of very loose tan pants, gathered at the waist and ankles. Nothin' else. That's when he turned to me. Right before enterin' into his tent. I felt his gaze fall squarely on mine, and my feet shook in fear. I couldn't stand there any longer, I'd never felt anythin' like it. Without even a thought of stayin' around, I took off back to town. You can bet I kissed my wife and thanked the gods for makin' it home!"
"So you watched him for some time then?"
"Well, not a load of time, I'd imagine a minute or two."
"And how did you feel while you were looking at him?"
Frinly thought for a great while before answering.
"Small."
That was all of worth that I could pull from Frinly. After speaking about the instance, he seemed to clam up, more interested in talking about his hunt than Soriel. It seems the presence of Daw has a emotionally taxing consequence to it. I shall have to ask more questions of feelings. This may also explain why Thomas and Drub gave me almost nothing to work with.
*Later I measured Frinly at 5'7" tall.
Personal Note - It is only day two of my study, and already I feel a great desire to cease all study of Soriel. Frinly's eyes told the tale well. is mouth would smile while his eyes darted around in fear. Is this really the kind of being that I want to be following? Yes. It is an easy answer to give, even against my survival instincts. Someone must gather this information.
